Serving Opportunities
There are many ways you can jump in and serve at New Hope! Please see below of the different opportunities, and contact us to learn more.
Children’s Ministry
The Children’s Ministry would appreciate additional volunteers to help as Sunday School teachers, who prepare and teach children's Bible lessons and lead related activities (on rotational basis approx. every 5-6 weeks), as well as Joyful Noise teachers, who prepare and lead younger children in praise songs and hand motions (rotational basis approx. 1-2x per month). Volunteers must be NHF members and will be required to submit a background check.
Communications & Media
The Comms team aims to support the vision and mission of NHF by overseeing and facilitating communications within the church body and to those outside the church. The team engages in a variety of tasks, including aiding in Sunday services with slide projections and Youtube live streams, updating the church website, managing our social media platforms, and promoting and photographing events. We are looking for volunteers with a range of skills and interests (including those with no experience–just a willing heart!) to help design graphics, take photos, oversee social media activity, and partner with other ministry teams to help create resources as needed.
Facilities
The Facilities Team serves the church by helping maintain a safe, clean, welcoming space for New Hope's regular gatherings. This includes cleaning up and securing the church building after our weekly Worship Services.
Hospitality & Welcoming
The Hospitality Team exists to shine the love of Jesus Christ by welcoming newcomers and connecting them into our church family and by fostering the development of Christ-centered community throughout our church at all levels. As a team, we greet all attendees at every Sunday service and assist newcomers in navigating our Sunday programming such as Sunday School and Youth programs and introduce them to our community care groups and other ministries. We set up and break down refreshments for our fellowship times, which precede or follow our church services. We plan and coordinate special events throughout the year, such as our annual church-wide picnic, newcomers luncheons, baptismal receptions, and Thanksgiving & Christmas service receptions. We partner with our other church ministries and care groups to bring awareness to opportunities for newcomers and members to deepen their relationships with our church family.
Mercy Ministry
The Mercy Ministry partners with care groups to come alongside the church body as the hands and feet of Jesus when a need arises, such as illness, surgery, child birth, bereavement, or financial burdens. Please join us in serving fellow church members as we bring meals, visit, pray, and help those in need in other ways as needed.
Praise & Worship
The Praise & Worship Ministry exists to joyfully and passionately broadcast the majesty and mercy of God through the life-changing power of the Gospel, the Holy Spirit and music. We thoughtfully select songs that are Gospel-centered and theologically sound, and serve and usher the church to encounter the love of God through them. Members interested in offering their musical talents can submit applications and will be contacted by the ministry leaders.
Youth Group
The Youth Group ministry aims to come alongside parents to help disciple middle and high schoolers to know the gospel of Jesus and the essentials of Christian living. During the school year, we meet every Friday evening for games/snacks, worship, and time of teaching (sermons, Bible studies, etc.) followed by small group discussions and prayer. We additionally organize various fellowship activities, group outings, and retreats. We would love more volunteers to help lead Friday discussion groups, and disciple/engage with our youth.
